Michael Leffler
Scoutmaster
Michael assumed the role of Scoutmaster of Troop 16 in 2026.
Scouting is in Michael’s blood. He grew up in Tallahassee and was a member of Pack 3 and Troop 105. As a youth, he was an Eagle Scout, member of the Order of the Arrow, served on staff of BSA’s Junior Leader Training (today NYLT), completed a Philmont trek in 1996, attended the 1997 National Jamboree, and served on staff at Camp Daniel Boone in North Carolina for five summers.
Michael will be the first to tell you that the experiences, lessons learned, and leadership opportunities he experienced in scouting have had a profound impact on his personal and professional life as an adult.
As Scoutmaster, Michael is committed to Troop 16 having the highest-quality scouting program possible and for each scout to have the opportunity to maximize the experiences scouting has to offer. Troop 16’s outdoor activities and trips are a cornerstone of the troop's program as they provide a “learning laboratory” for advancing the aims of the scouting movement.
Regardless of rank obtained, Michael hopes that each and every scout in Troop 16 will experience personal growth, gain a spirit for adventure, see the value of service bigger than self, and have a ton of fun with lasting memories.

Scouts BSA isn’t just a program—it’s a journey, and it’s youth-led every step of the way. As an adult volunteer, you’re not just supervising—you’re part of the adventure! You’ll guide, support, and learn alongside Scouts as they explore the great outdoors, tackle new challenges, and grow into confident leaders.
Whether you're sharing a favorite hobby or picking up a brand-new skill, every adult has something meaningful to contribute. One weekend, you might find yourself teaching the Swimming Merit Badge at the lake, or helping Scouts earn their Hiking Merit Badge on the trail, hiking five miles through scenic terrain with another leader, or swapping stories around the campfire while learning to clean and cook fresh-caught fish.
It’s not just the Scouts who grow. As a volunteer, you’ll gain leadership experience, learn practical outdoor and survival skills, and make memories that last a lifetime! Every training, every campout, and every badge earned is a shared victory!
